[Appearance]

The polarized high contrast rose lens is brownish in color, giving the field of view a rose or reddish brown appearance. The lens has a visible light transmittance of 14%, which is a little dark, but it can be used even on cloudy days. The lenses are not dazzling due to light. The polarized filter sandwiched inside the lens blocks out unnecessary reflected light, providing visibility, and the anti-reflective coating on the back of the lens reduces flickering on the lens.

[Transmittance spectrum comparison]

These two graphs compare light smoke lenses with polarized high contrast rose lenses, with the horizontal axis representing the wavelength (color) of light and the vertical axis representing how much of that light passes through the lens (transmittance %).

Features: The transmittance is low across the entire visible light range (400nm to 750nm), generally ranging from 30% to 40%. This means that the light is reduced evenly across the board.

・AF-302SP Polarized high contrast rose lens (Blue line graph on the right)

Features: It cuts out the yellow light wavelength range (580nm to 600nm) which is the light that the human eye can see and is the visible light that has strong energy and is easily perceived as dazzling, controlling glare while providing a clear and sharp view. It also cuts out the dim light wavelength range (500nm to 520nm) near the border between blue and green light. By cutting out light in these two wavelength ranges, contrast (difference between light and dark and unevenness of objects) is greatly increased, improving visibility.
